Assisted Living Assessments for Carlton Senior Living Davis

November 20, 2022

From Arlene

I visited this facility

Carlton Senior Living Davis has independent, supportive and memory care. My mom is going into assisted living. I like that it's a diverse community (at least that's how the seller presented it to me). The clientele represented the Davis community. There were a lot of retired teachers and professors and that's what I was looking for. I was looking for something where there were smart people so it was a vibrant community. As for the staff, I only met the lady who was driving us and she was lovely. I haven't met the rest of the team. They had a large library and a room at least half of which was devoted to bridge players. My mother is a bridge player so I loved that. It wasn't too fancy, but it wasn't too dirty either. It was a good compromise. They had exercise classes and groups that played bridge. I liked that they had educational discussion groups, which my mother liked. They were able to go to the Mondavi Center (which is UC Davis' performing arts center) and see the things that are going on there. They take them for a walk. I thought it was cool because my mom likes to be involved in cultural life.

My father in law just moved to the Carlton in Davis. He has some problems with the transition. The staff is very helpful and to top it off. They called me with many options to keep him there since he can't live on his own. They really care about him as a person. I am really impressed with the staff and the facilities are well maintained. I could not recommend this superior center enough. We looked at 3 other places. One was $400 more a month but didn't offer transportation, another was the same price but really horrible and depressing, it was more for seniors who needed a lot of care, felt like an old motel. It is very important to consider your options before deciding where to lay your loved one.

My mother-in-law moved to Carlton Senior Living Davis. She is in assisted living and has been wonderful. Everyone was very helpful, friendly and pleasant. The place is simply immaculate and beautiful. They have lots of activities and good food. We chose it based on everything we saw. The staff was very nice, kind and very helpful. The place looks beautiful. The list of activities was good and we heard the chef is really great. They also have a beauty salon on site.

We found a place for my mother. We put a community fee for when they have a vacancy. It's a great place, Carlton Senior Living Davis. It's a beautiful facility. The person who gave us the tour was very helpful. They have all the services you need. It's also within walking distance of where we live. The staff was more than helpful. I have nothing but positive things to say about the place. I would give it the highest rating for everything. The rooms are beautiful there. They are affordable. I didn't get a chance to try the food, but we looked at the menu. My brother and I went there. The menu must be better there than here. Installation was flawless. The amenities were excellent. It was almost like a hotel.

Carlton Senior Living Davis was very nice. I hope to go there to look again. It is my plan to move there, but not for a while. The rooms I saw were very nice and I liked them. I was impressed with their accommodations, library, and gym. They had a fitness room and the staff was very polite and professional. They had no food there. They had an outdoor area and I think there was a garden where residents could draw a favorite plant.

My mother lives at Carlton Senior Living Davis. It is 5 star for service, facilities and activities. They are very innovative with Alzheimer's and memory care. they take patients out if they want to go on excursions and have morning events for breakfast. Residents have their own garden where they can go out whenever they want. The activities manager is fantastic. My mother has a beautiful room with high ceilings. He is small, so he is not afraid. My mother complains about the food. However, when I was there for six days and five nights, the meals were good. They have smaller meals during the day. I think their food is comparable.

As a doctor who has been to many nursing homes and other communities in the past, Carlton Senior Living Davis is the best place I have ever been. It is a spectacular and great community. The problem is that I still haven't been able to convince my mom to go, so we're waiting until she finally says no enough. Carlton Senior Living Davis was wonderful, clean, safe and friendly. The villagers looked happy. I didn't expect anything better than this. The member of staff who helped me was excellent and very helpful. The activities were mainly exercises. We had lunch there and the food was very good. It probably wasn't as tasty as my taste buds would have liked, but we don't want them to gain too much weight and we want to keep the sugar levels low, so I think the food is good.

Carlton Senior Living was wonderful and made us a special meal with our names on the table. Everything was nice, but it was $2000 more and we didn't know anyone there. We saw a two bedroom room and it was perfectly adequate. They serve three meals a day.

Memory Care Reviews for Carlton Senior Living Davis

June 9, 2021

by Kathleen

I am a friend or relative of a current/former resident

My friend is at Carlton Senior Living Davis. He is under memory care. It is very good. It is very attractive and very tastefully decorated. The staff was very polite on arrival and when I entered the room they were very friendly. They have a beautiful dining room and a common room on the ground floor. My friend lives on the third floor. The corridors are tastefully decorated and have grab bars on one or both sides along the walls for people like me who need help. His apartment was one bedroom with a bathroom, a small kitchen and a small living room. It was very good. When she moved in about two years ago, she wanted colored walls and they were so happy she got them. The son bought the paint and painted the walls in the colors he chose. Then came the lockdown so I didn't see her for almost a year and by then she had moved into memory care and that's where I saw her last week. I was very impressed with the stay there. Again, she had a good room, a little bigger than what she had in independent care. The common area, again, was large and airy, with large windows and bright, comfortable furniture, very pleasant and soothing music, and countless staff interacting with the patients, some in wheelchairs, some in hospital. game table that wants to play a game. There was a kitchen in the common room where two people were having breakfast around eleven o'clock. Across the corridor was a very nice and quiet common room with armchairs and books on the shelves. At one point I ran into my friend in the common room and she decided she wanted to go back to her room. We then went out into the hallway, where he started going the wrong way. An employee was walking towards us and stopped to ask if she could help. My friends told her what I needed and the staff said they would be happy to take us to my friend's room. My friend also asked if this person would bring us cokes, which he did after leading us to my friend's room. So it's a very nice visit and a very nice place. If I had to go to this type of care, I would probably choose the Carlton.
